a bit about me

I’m Ella, a filmmaking student at Nottingham Trent University with a passion for creating meaningful and socially conscious films. My main interest lies in documentary filmmaking, particularly projects centred around social justice and real human experiences. I’m inspired by the power film has to communicate important messages in an accessible and impactful way, and believe storytelling can be used as a powerful force for positive change.

I’m also drawn to telling the stories of unique individuals: people who challenge expectations, embrace individuality, and stand out in a world that often values conformity. Through filmmaking, I aim to create authentic, engaging work that connects with audiences on a personal level.

Through my experience of working on films so far, I have found myself most drawn to the roles of director and producer. Both positions allow me to combine my creativity, organisation, and sociable nature while collaborating closely with others to bring ideas to life.
